Rory Bernays is a furniture designer and carpenter from Oxfordshire. Starting back in 2000 Rory originally trained in historical restoration. He started to explore wood work and found that it was something he truly enjoyed.

Working with wood is hugely rewarding, Rory encourages its natural warmth and beauty to shine through, producing products that are tactile and pleasing to use, using a variety of specialist tools largely unchanged for hundreds of years. Much of the work is still finished entirely with hand tools, using time-honoured traditional techniques

Now based in an Old School in Pembrokeshire West Wales Rory sources his timber locally, where possible from sustainable sources. Provenance is becoming more and more important,  knowing where the timber has come from. He is always on the search for wood with character. He embraces the use of reclaimed and recycled timbers to create pieces that are as unique and individual as we are.
