Hello and welcome to the Old School Carpentry Company. We are an independant company based in a beautiful Old School House in West Wales. The company was founded by Rory who has come from a background of historical restoration, and who is passionate about creating functional, timeless designs.
We produce a range of wooden products large and small, ranging from kitchen furniture to chopping boards. Our timber is British where possible and sourced from the surrounding Counties using sustainable sources. We also use reclaimed timber in many of our products, which gives a unique vintage feel to our designs.
This Deck was designed together with the client to make the most out of a small space. He wanted to incorporate curves giving a softer feel to the design and was inspired by a skate park he had seen. The timber we used was Red Cedar which is low maintenance for outdoor use: it needs no treatment as the wood has natural preservatives, we chose rough sawn which made it anti-slip.
